Balinese tradition calls for women to carry objects
on their heads. We saw them carrying offerings, bags of fruit,
sacks of rice, and 35 lbs of quarried stone. Balinese men
typically carry objects on their shoulders.

Balinese children are very friendly. Despite the fierce
stance of the boys in the picture, they were laughing and giggling
having the best time. While travelling in the bemos, we met
a lot of children on their way home from school. One little boy
gave Wayne a hand-made yo-yo and then practiced
his English on us.

Prayer and religious festivals are an everyday occurrence on Bali.
In this picture these men drove up in their car and then
went over to receive a blessing from the priest. After the
blessing, the priest then blessed the car! In Bali, you'll find
that most drivers really need this blessing!

The countrysides are absolutely beautiful. Most of the people in
Bali still work in agriculture. The effort to plant and harvest a
rice crop is massive. We took this picture close to our hotel while
taking a guided trek with one of the hotel staff.
